SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.

Vacancy Overview

We are offering an excellent opportunity for or innovative and curious apprentices to join the 3-year Apprenticeship with our Customer Support Team in Northern Europe. During your apprenticeship programme you will attend college one day per week, whilst continuing your development, supported by your SPTS mentor! In this program you will develop your skills in all aspects of build, test, operation, and maintenance of ground breaking semiconductor equipment!

Responsibilities:

As a Customer Support Apprentice you’ll be offered on-the-job training to include:

  • Mechanical/Electrical assembly, wiring and fault finding in our tools
  • Operation and process engineering
  • Successful completion of NVQ logbook entries by the required timelines
  • Work through your preparation towards HNC Qualification in Electronics

Once qualified you will have the opportunity for international travel. Some limited travel is likely during the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First year of BTEC or similar course in electronics/electrical engineering that allows entry to BTEC year 2 on day release.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five GCSE’s including Maths, English, & Science at grade C or above.
