It is currently engaged on a number of UK and international programmes to deliver complex C4I, future network enabled capabilities and programmes. The business is looking for a number of apprentices to satisfy current and future project demands.

Role & Responsibilities:

The GDUK Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme will operate over a four year period and will enable the individual to gain an appreciation of the various Engineering disciplines within GDUK which include:

Software
Systems
System Integration & Test
Support

The apprentice will also get the opportunity to work in multi-disciplined engineering teams and gain knowledge and skills in requirements, software development, system design (both hardware and software), test procedures, acceptance qualification, test rig specifications, test strategy, test planning, work-package management and customer interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a range of tasks suited to the current level of training and development
  • Attend college and complete course work on time and to a high standard
  • Produce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off of log books
  • Take on additional responsibility in Years 3 & 4 of  the Apprenticeship
  • Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • Understand and comply with policies and procedures
  • Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Attend and fully participate regular training and development reviews with line management, mentor and HR representatives
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

Desirable Qualities:

  • Be both self-motivated, act with professionalism and able to work within a team.
  • Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Package applications
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be organised and able to prioritise their work.
  • Be flexible in their approach to their work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five GCSE’s that includes Maths, English, & Science at grade C or above.
